Spend your time where it counts
Situation and Task should take about 20% of your answer. Action takes 60%. Result takes 20%. Most candidates invert this and spend two minutes on background before ever describing what they did.
Prepare seven stories, not fifty answers
Choose seven real situations that show ownership, conflict handling, an error you corrected, a process you improved, a deadline you saved, confidentiality, and cross-cultural work. Almost any behavioural question maps onto one of them.
Always land on a number
Hours saved, errors eliminated, cost reduced, turnaround shortened, people coordinated. Numbers convert a nice story into evidence.
